With our locations in Vienna, Kundl, Schaftenau, Lannach, Steyr, Ilz (AUT), Penzberg (DEU) and Kosice (SVK), the SMB Group can provide maximum customer proximity and service options.

Thomas Pein completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk at AVL List in Graz. In addition, he qualified as an accountant. He is also a specialist in marketing and management.

Mr. Pein has been with the company SMB since 1999, from 2013 to 2017 he was in charge of the company’s finances. Since 2017 he has been the Managing Director of SMB Industrieanlagenbau GmbH and CFO of SMB Pure Systems GmbH. He has been Managing Director of SMB Holding GmbH since 2020.

Mr. Rinofner is a graduate of a higher technical college and has various additional further training courses.

After working for various companies, he came to SMB in 2000 as a Quality Manager and Project Engineer. In 2014 he became Division Manager and since 2017 he has been the Managing Director of SMB Industrieanlagenbau GmbH.

After training at HTL, Hermann Grundnig worked for several years as a construction site technician for pipeline construction in the pulp and paper industry. From 1989 to 1998 he played a key role in setting up the SMB location in Graz and managed a large number of projects in various industrial sectors.

In his role as Managing Director of an internationally active Austrian plant manufacturer in the pharmaceutical industry, Hermann Grundnig acquired extensive industry knowledge from 1998 to 2012 and built up an excellent network.

As a shareholder and Managing Director of SMB Pure Systems, he has been working in the SMB Group again since 2012 and is primarily responsible for the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industry division.

Mr. Halbwedl attended the HTL for mechanical engineering and then completed the course for economics and engineering at the university of applied sciences while working.

His career at SMB began in 1997, first as a construction site engineer, then as a project and area manager. He has been Managing Director of SMB Pure Systems GmbH since 1st October 2020.

Stefan Riegler has been in the business since 1997 and completed an apprenticeship as a metal technician. He also continued his education in the areas of marketing, leadership and quality management.

In 2008 he completed the school for master craftsmen and worked at SMB as a project manager. Since 2015 he has acted as deputy head of department and took over the management of SMB Houdek GmbH in Germany in 2019.

Zoltán Nagy is a graduate of the Technical University of Budapest, where he received his master’s degree in chemical engineering and business administration.

He is a member of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and a certified technical inspector for chemical plant construction. He has been working there for 20 years, primarily in the field of pure media.

Since 2017 he has been Managing Director of the Hungarian branch of the SMB Group.

Markus Puntigam is a graduate from the Higher Technical College and successfully studied “Industrial Management” part-time at the University of Applied Sciences.

After his technical training, he started his professional life directly at SMB. Beginning in 2008 as a construction site engineer, his path led from technical clerk to project manager.

Since 2017 Mr. Puntigam is the Managing Director of SMB Construction Services s.r.o.

After his studies in business administration, Walter Krassnitzer has already worked for numerous well-known industrial companies. Since 2003, Mr. Krassnitzer has been commercial director and since 2004 also co-owner of the SMB Group. Since 2022, he has acted as managing director of SMB Holding GmbH.
